I thought I should pass on this tidbit of information. After having built 2 big sailboats I have acquired a great deal of experience with epoxies and sealants of various types. There is a polyurethane sealant that is so tough that it could be used to PERMANENTLY seal or glue many things. In it's marine form it is called 3M 5200, about $10. for a caulking size tube at a marine store. The good news is, Home Depot sells a very similar product called PL polyurethane door and window sealent for about $4. The only thing I have found it won't work on is plexiglass, lexan, and copper. This stuff is so tough it will FOREVER seal or glue most anything. Don't use it on anything you might have to take apart someday. Oh, the 5200 brand comes in white, black, tan and brown. The PL is white only. While it is still gooey it can be cleaned up with mineral spirits, once set up nothing but tears and elbow grease.
